The aerial photograph (left) shows the Mount Pleasant site marked out in red. It covers land on both sides of the road Phoenix Place, where you can find The Royal Mail Archive.
The surrounding area of Clerkenwell has seen many changes in the last decade. It is now an area of restaurants and bars, but still with a strong local community, particularly including Italian migrants.
Apart from the postal service, one of the traditional industries of Clerkenwell was watch and clock making. Now, it is most frequently visited by family historians who research their forebears at The Royal Mail Archive, London Metropolitan Archives, and the Society of Genealogists.
Mount Pleasant continues to be a major feature of this part of the London landscape, and the BPMA is pleased to call it home.
