Visit by Eleanor Laing MP

On Friday 9 May Eleanor Laing, MP for Epping Forest and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons paid a visit to the BPMA’s Museum Store at Debden. Chairman Helen Forde and Senior Curator Julian Stray gave her a guided tour of the wide collection housed there including our unique 18th Century Mail Coach, which has recently returned from an extended stay at Grampian Transport Museum. After her tour Eleanor heard from director Adrian Steel about the plans for The Postal Museum and Mail Rail to which she has pledged her support, as well as BPMA’s plans for the Museum Store at Debden, which is located within her constituency.
