New Online Catalogue Goes Live

16 June 2014

Today the British Postal Museum & Archive (BPMA) has launched the beta version of its new online catalogue, bringing a number of changes to greatly improve the user experience.

The improved catalogue will provide:

a simple search function, using a sophisticated search engine;

sorting of results via relevancy, title, date and level;

the option to filter results;

23,500 images at a much larger size than previously available;

the ability to easily browse the full archive hierarchy to see a document’s place within it and its relationship with other documents.

The new catalogue is the first of two phases to improve online access to the BPMA’s collections. The second phase will be introduced in the run up to the opening of The Postal Museum in 2016, and is expected to add greater functionality including digital download options and document ordering facilities.

You can access the new online catalogue here and a quick start guide on how to use the new facilities is also available on the website.
